Create Profiles with Apple Configurator

Enforce settings on your iPhone by using profiles.

Profiles are used to enforce settings and restrictions. I recommend creating a unique profile for each type of category of restriction. Then, you'll add these profiles to your supervised iOS device using Apple Configurator.

Create a Profile

Create a profile with device restrictions.

In Apple configurator, select File > New Profile.

Name the profile

Update the Security settings to With Authorization. You can either require a password or restrict the removal of the profile completely

Note

You can remove the profile using Apple Configurator with either selection, this just restricts removing the profile using the supervised iOS device.

Save the profile. It will be saved with a .mobileconfig file extension

Install Profile

Select the device in Apple Configurator (right click) and add > profiles

Select the desired .mobileconfig file and add. This is the file you saved when you created and saved the profile originally.

Your device should sync with the profile changes.

Verify Installation of Profiles

In your iPhone, open settings search for and navigate to "Device Management".

You should see a profile that matches the name of the profile you distributed to the device
